This program is run by Rose City Chess, with owner Robert Hecht (former High School physics teacher) who ran the All Saints Chess Tournament last November and the spring Chess Club at All Saints.
The program is structured chess education for all levels with workbooks and play time, and is lots of fun. It is open to 2nd* - 8th graders (need to be able to sit for an hour). Chess trains executive function and focus, builds resilience, and fosters respect.
* Any participating 2nd graders must be picked up by an approved adult and walked to the pavilion. Parents are responsible for coordinating this.
